Ambassador

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary posted to France at the Swiss Confederation embassy is Her Excellency (H.E.) Ms. Livia Leu

Ms. Livia Leu took office as Ambassador of Switzerland in France and the Principality of Monaco on September 3, 2018.

In 2009, she was appointed Swiss Ambassador to Iran for four years, and also represented US interests. From 2013 to 2018, she is Head of Bilateral Economic Relations at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and Delegate of the Federal Council for Trade Agreements.

After serving as a Diplomatic Officer in the United Nations (UN) Division at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) until 1994, she became an Embassy Advisor at the Swiss Mission to the United Nations United Nations in New York from 1994 to 1998. She later served as Alternate Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland in Egypt from 1998 to 2002, and then Alternate to the Head of the Africa / Middle East Political Division. 2004 to 2006 and Head of the Africa / Middle East Policy Division from 2006 to 2008 in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
