• 2008-2011 Commander of Civil Operations and Director of the Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability (CPCC), European External Action Service, EU Brussels
• 2006-2008 Director Directie Zuidoost en Oost Europa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Hague
• 2002-2006 Director Intelligence Foreign Affairs (AIVD), Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, The Hague
