Ambassador

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary posted to Latvia at the United Arab Emirates embassy is Her Excellency (H.E.) Mrs. Nancy Bikoff Pettit

Ambassador Pettit was confirmed by the Senate on June 24, 2015 as the Ambassador to the Republic of Latvia. She's a career member of the Foreign Service.

Prior to arriving in Riga, she served as Director of the Office of Western European Affairs in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, a position she held from 2013 to 2015. Previously she served as Director of the workplace of Policy coming up with and Coordination within the Bureau of International Narcotics and enforcement (2010 – 2013). Ambassador Pettit has also served as Counselor for Law Enforcement Policy and Assistance in Moscow; Press Attaché in Kyiv; and Political Unit Chief in Vienna.

In Washington, Ambassador Pettit has worked in the Coordinator’s Office for Assistance to Newly Independent States, the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, the Bureau of Intelligence and Research, and the Board of Examiners. She has additionally worked at the yank Institute in Taiwan. Ambassador Pettit has received seven worthy Honor awards and 2 Superior Honor awards.
